Embedded Systems / Electrial Engineer

Compensation: $70,000+, commensurate with experience

The Role

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Embedded Systems / Electrical Engineer to join our product development team. This position plays a key role in the design, testing, and integration of embedded systems for next-generation respiratory protection devices. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in circuit design, software development and electromagnetic compliance (EMC) within a multidisciplinary engineering environment.

Requested Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline

  • Demonstrated experience in electronics design and development, preferably in a regulated industry

  • Working knowledge of embedded systems, microcontrollers

  • Experience with software development (C++, C, or similar)

  • Experience with PCB design, schematic capture, and electronic component selection

  • Proficiency with electrical CAD software (e.g., Altium Designer, Eagle/Fusion 360, KiCad)

  • Knowledge of electromagnetic compliance and related topics (RF, EMI, ESD, etc.)

  • Familiarity with IEC 60601 and other regulatory standards

  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot circuit designs

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to create and maintain documentation in accordance with ISO 13485 requirements

  • Experience with testing, verification, and design validation procedures

  • Experience with test equipment (oscilloscopes, multimeters, logic analyzers, soldering tools)

Responsibilities

  • Design, prototype, and test printed circuit boards (PCBs) and embedded software, ensuring compliance with electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) standards and best practices

  • Create and maintain schematics, PCB layouts, and bills of materials (BOMs)

  • Work closely with Design Engineers and Project Leads to ensure electrical designs meet functional, regulatory, and safety requirements

  • Support the development and execution of verification and validation testing plans for electronic assemblies

  • Collaborate with Quality Engineers to ensure risk management files (DFMEA, PFMEA, UFMEA) and design documentation meet ISO 13485 standards

  • Evaluate components and suppliers for compliance, quality, and long-term reliability

  • Support prototyping and testing of electrical subsystems, including data collection and analysis

  • Assist in creating and maintaining the design history file (DHF) and technical documentation

  • Other duties as assigned
