Embedded Systems / Electrial Engineer

Compensation: $70,000+, commensurate with experience

The Role
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Embedded Systems / Electrical Engineer to join our product development team. This position plays a key role in the design, testing, and integration of embedded systems for next-generation respiratory protection devices. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in circuit design, software development and electromagnetic compliance (EMC) within a multidisciplinary engineering environment.
Requested Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline
Demonstrated experience in electronics design and development, preferably in a regulated industry
Working knowledge of embedded systems, microcontrollers
Experience with software development (C++, C, or similar)
Experience with PCB design, schematic capture, and electronic component selection
Proficiency with electrical CAD software (e.g., Altium Designer, Eagle/Fusion 360, KiCad)
Knowledge of electromagnetic compliance and related topics (RF, EMI, ESD, etc.)
Familiarity with IEC 60601 and other regulatory standards
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot circuit designs
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to create and maintain documentation in accordance with ISO 13485 requirements
Experience with testing, verification, and design validation procedures
Experience with test equipment (oscilloscopes, multimeters, logic analyzers, soldering tools)
Responsibilities
Design, prototype, and test printed circuit boards (PCBs) and embedded software, ensuring compliance with electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) standards and best practices
Create and maintain schematics, PCB layouts, and bills of materials (BOMs)
Work closely with Design Engineers and Project Leads to ensure electrical designs meet functional, regulatory, and safety requirements
Support the development and execution of verification and validation testing plans for electronic assemblies
Collaborate with Quality Engineers to ensure risk management files (DFMEA, PFMEA, UFMEA) and design documentation meet ISO 13485 standards
Evaluate components and suppliers for compliance, quality, and long-term reliability
Support prototyping and testing of electrical subsystems, including data collection and analysis
Assist in creating and maintaining the design history file (DHF) and technical documentation
Other duties as assigned
