Its ergonomic shape is light weight, the strap is adjustable, and it provides the best coverage of any face shield we’ve seen. It’s made in North America, and it is priced to compete with offshore face shield manufacturers.

Why our C-Shield has been so well received

This 93 second video compares the performance of four types of face shields. It will change your perception of the protection offered by of some of the most common shields on the market.

Our customers told us what they needed

As we refined our shield’s design, we sought valuable input from a broad group of users that included front-line nurses, surgeons, physicians, infectious control experts, as well as production and manufacturing workers and health and safety experts.

Our C-Shield underwent peer rated evaluations with a provincial health authority and it “met or exceeded” all measurement criteria.

C-Shield

When we initially designed our C-Shield, we studied and paid close attention to how the Covid-19 virus is transmitted.

We learned that transmission primarily takes place through exposure to airborne droplets or particles that make their way into our eyes, nose and mouth.

We quickly realized that most shields now on the market do not adequately provide full protection as they leave large parts of the head exposed.

These other shields also allow the wearer to touch their exposed hair and top of the head – which isn’t a good thing in an infectious environment as studies have shown that people spend 9% of their time touching their hair and face.

Almost all shields on the market today don’t cover the top of your head. Many also don’t provide adequate protection for the eyes and nose when droplets fall from above and land behind the plastic on your face.

We conducted airborne particulate and droplet splatter tests on leading face shields in the market. After the tests, black lights clearly illustrated how the forehead and scalp areas were saturated with aerosol particles. Splatter tests results were dramatically different when our shield was tested compared to the others. There was no evidence of contamination.

In addition, most face shield providers use open cell foam for their head bands which only compounds the problems. Pathogens can easily penetrate into that foam and it is almost impossible to wipe clean.

Our C-Shield’s head band is composed of ”Ultrasoft” bio-degradable “closed cell” foam that can be wiped clean.
